

Dr. David Andrew Pressley, 74, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife, Linda, by his side on Saturday, January 1, 2022. He was born on September 14, 1947, in Beech Grove, Indiana, to Fred and Mary (Shores) Pressley. After the death of his mother, David was raised by his loving father Fred and step-mother, Helen Pressley; both now deceased. David also lost his half-sister, Carol Jean Ford, earlier this year who is survived by her loving husband Sam.
David was a graduate of New Palestine High School, class of 1965, where he met his life-long sweetheart Linda Dyan Plummer. He married Linda on June 8, 1968, in Cumberland, Indiana.
David went on to complete his pre-med training at Indiana-Purdue University and his doctorate in podiatric medicine at the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in 1972, graduating first in his class. David completed his surgical residency at Hopedale Medical Complex in Hopedale, Illinois, which led to a meaningful career of practicing podiatric medicine in Terre Haute, Indiana, for 34 years. David’s career as a physician started with his partner Dr. Gerald Henke in 1974, on 7th Street in Terre Haute. He went on to develop his solo private practice in 1987, on Poplar Street where he practiced until his retirement in 2008.
David is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Linda Pressley of Terre Haute; their children, Craig Pressley and wife, Jana, of Boston, MA, and his daughter Christina Lamb and husband, Jim, of Clinton; grandchildren, Micah Pressley, Chloe Lamb, Kerrigan Butts, Aubrey Butts, Samuel Pressley, and Emma Lamb; a niece, Debbie Chamberlain and husband Allan. David and his family were also supported by very special friends, Larry and Marylin Leinenbach and Susan Kristich. David also received compassionate care from his medical team, Dr. Kumar Guarav, Dr. Venkat Reddy, and Dr. Suresh Kunapareddy and their talented and loving staff.
David loved to garden organically, crafting stained glass, making models, traveling all over the world with Linda, watching his ’Grands’ in the pool, cheering for his beloved Cardinals, and especially his beautiful Florida condo at Envoy Point in St. Pete Beach. He loved his friends and family who will miss him greatly. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church in Terre Haute and was full of love for his Lord.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Roselawn Funeral Home, Terre Haute, Indiana. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, at the funeral home with Reverend Bernie Jackson and JR Wilson officiating. Cremation will follow and David will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park with private services on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
