

Delphyn X. Heck, 89, of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012 surrounded by love. She was born April 1, 1923 in Sumner County, TN., the daughter of the late Leslie and Etta (Wix) Carter. She was united in marriage to William E. Heck, who preceded her in death after nearly fifty years of marriage.
Delphyn worked along side of her husband at Heck Construction Company and also had a great love for her family, gardening and cooking. She will forever be remembered as a kind, loving, caring bright and compassionate person, who will be missed by all.
She is survived by her son, Clarence Edward Heck and his wife, Penny; her daughter, Joyce McCammon and her companion, Jim Walls. She has five grandchildren, Carter McCammon and his companion, Adam Hampton, Joel McCammon, Selina Heck and her companion, Holly Gilchrist, Clara and husband Junior Floyd and Michael Craffets.
Delphyn also leaves behind four great grandchildren and one sister, Dot Smith of Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was welcomed home to heaven by her brothers and her son-in-law, Carl McCammon
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 11 a.m. until Delphyn’s Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon at the Thomas Funeral Home. Mr. Karl Heck will officiate with burial to follow in Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Delphyn may be directed to Southern Care Hospice, 4624 Springhill, Terre Haute, IN. 47802. The entire Heck family would like to thank Southern Care for the compassionate care they provided Delphyn in her final days.
