Doris Joyce Hakman

Doris was a 1963 graduate of Teutopolis High School and attended Eastern Illinois University. She was a long time member of Sacred Heart Church choir and a faithful communion minister. Doris was an avid card player and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She married Larry Hakman on July 16, 1966, and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Joe Hakman (Holly), Kevin Hakman (Dana), and Denise Rodgers (Chris), grandchildren: Jason, Ashley, Travis, Evan, Lorin, Josh, Sarah, Joseph, Luke, Jessica, Derek, Tera, Jordan, Rachel and Caleb; many great-grandchildren. Doris is also survived by her sister, Judy Colburn, her brother, Dennis Pruemer; many special friends and a large extended family.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Gertrude Pruemer; siblings, Donald Pruemer, Tom Pruemer, Connie Rieman and Jean Bergfeld.

Visitation for Doris will be on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 9:00am to 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 2322 N. 13 ½ St., Terre Haute, IN 47804. Mass will follow at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park. Flowers may be sent to Sacred Heart Church.
