Elma Cecilia Everhart was born on July 26, 1922 in Shelburn, In. to Henry and Selina (Southwood) Hunter and passed from this life on Dec. 11. 2011. Her husband of 70 years, Forrest K. Everhart preceded her in death on July 23, 2011. Last year, prior to their declining health, they were known to travel several hundred miles a day to check out a restaurant they'd heard about and could be found often at the New Day Restaurant in Terre Haute. Elma had resided at Meadows Manor East for the past 6 months due to her health problems. Her last months were easier because of the loving care she received there and her family is most grateful. Elma had been primarily a housewife but had worked at Orth Tax Service and as the cook for the sisters at Sacred Heart Church.
