

Elmer Eugene Walls, 89, of Terre Haute, passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Union Hospital. He was born Oct. 13, 1925.
Elmer worked for WTHI for 19 years and ran the communications for CBS at the Indy 500. He worked for IHETS and retired after 20 years of service. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 59 years. He was an avid Cardinals fan. Elmer was a licensed amateur radio operator. He was musically talented and played for several country bands. He loved to hunt and fish in his spare time. The greatest joy in his later years was spending time with his family, especially his great-grandchildren.
Elmer is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Walls of Terre Haute; a son, Mark Alan Walls and wife Cheryl Ann; a daughter, Cheryl Jean Walls; a sister, Gladys Bushue; grandchildren, Damon Alan Walls, Crystal Jean Gentry (Jeremy), and JonPaul Domenic Gossett; step-grandchildren, Brea Kratzert-Todd (Ryan), and Brennen Crandall; great-grandchildren, Gabe Christopher Gentry, Rylan Domenic Gossett, Ellie Grace Walls, Brooklynn Dawn Gentry; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald Eugene Walls; grandson, Sean Christopher Walls; and seven siblings.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at Roselawn Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 1 p.m. until services. Burial will follow at a later date in Roselawn Memorial Park. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at:
