Esther Jean Patton, 79, of Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Union Hospital. She was born on July 15, 1933, in Terre Haute to Everett G. and Gladys Pearl (Davidson) Sears. She married Robert David Patton and together they raised six children. Esther devoted her life to children. She will always be remembered as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Esther is survived by two daughters, Terri Steinquist and her husband Dan, Sharon Heath and her husband Don; three sons, David Patton, Mike Patton and his wife Patty, and Danny Patton and his wife Karen; two brothers, Norman Sears, Bob Sears and his wife Mary, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert; a son Bruce Patton, and a brother, Everett “Babe” Sears.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Monday, June 10 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 7 on Monday at the funeral home with Reverend Alfy Austin officiating. Per her wishes, cremation will follow. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mattoxwood.com
