Ethel Ilean Lynch, 80, of Terre Haute, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Regional Hospital. She was born on May 2, 1940, in Terre Haute to Warren Leonard Sagraves and Elizabeth A. (Metz) Sagraves Reynolds. Ethel is survived by her son, Emmett Roy Lynch (Beth); daughter, Erin Elizabeth Duzan (Darin); grandchildren, Brooke Ann Lynch (Devin Drake), Ethan Roy Lynch, Emma Rae Lynch, Dallas Eli Duzan, and Delaney Elise Duzan, all of Seelyville; sisters, Lynn Wiram and Beth Sagraves; sister-in-law, Janet Cox; brother-in-law, Steve Lynch (Karen); many nieces, nephews, and close, life-long friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Stephen Reynolds; her husband of 52 years, Everett “Roy” Lynch; son, Everett “Eric” Lynch; and brothers, Larry L. Sagraves and Zan W. Sagraves. Ethel worked as a secretary for the mental health unit at Regional Hospital. She enjoyed her work and even taught cooking and crafts to the patients. In her younger days, she was a member of the Home Ec Club and a bowling league. Not one to say no to adventure, she took belly dancing classes with her sister, Beth. Ethel was a talented seamstress and made uniforms for Woodrow Wilson’s basketball and tennis teams. She was best known for her cooking and baking. She baked pies and cakes often and her cake decorating skills were second to none. She was a fabulous cook and could whip up a mean breakfast in no time. There wasn’t anything in the kitchen that Ethel couldn’t do. Most of all, Ethel loved her family and she took care of everyone. She doted on her husband Roy as well as her grandchildren and they were the light of her life. Ethel was at her happiest surrounded by family. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 1 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home with Rev. Curtis Mitchell officiating. Ethel will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
