Geraldine Hope Coon Lindsay, 86, of Lakeland, Fla., and formerly of Terre Haute passed away on Jan. 31, 2018, in Lakeland. She was born July 9, 1931, in Mount Vernon, to Edgar Elwood Coon and Virginia Lucille Jones Coon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forrest William Lindsay Jr.; one sister, Barbara Coon Hayes Simms; two brothers, William Coon and Vernon Coon; and her daughter-in-law, Nancy Lindsay.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Lee Lindsay Koester; her son, Forrest William Lindsay III; five grandchildren, Tricia Clark, Lucinda Harris and her husband Mark, Amanda Gilbert and her husband Christopher, Samuel Koester and Timothy Koester; and five great-grandchildren, Kyle Gilbert, Allyson Gilbert, Kariya Harris, Gavan Crum and Dawn Koester.
Geraldine worked in the accounting department at CBS Records in Terre Haute from 1962-1978. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Terre Haute, Terre Haute Chapter 43 Order of the Eastern Star, and Temple 23 Daughters of the Nile.
Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Roselawn Funeral Home. Memorial services by the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 43 and by the Daughters of the Nile Temple 23 will be held immediately prior to the funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Carey officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Memories at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Friends and family will gather to share memories and celebrate Geraldine's life at the Joseph A. Bray Marine Corps League, 3006 N. 16th St., following the services on Friday. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at: www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
