

Glen Archie Rudisel, 85, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Union Hospital. He was born on September 22, 1930 in Terre Haute, to Herbert and Daisy (Mahan) Rudisel. He married Judith Wilkie in November 1984.
Glen is survived by his wife, Judith Rudisel of Terre Haute; children: Jerry Rudisel and wife Cheryl, Johnnie Rudisel and wife Dee Dee, Daniel Rudisel, David Rudisel, Timothy Rudisel, Glenda Rudisel, Robert Whitsit, James Whitsit, Jeff Whitsit, Todd Whitsit and wife Jennifer, Lori Effner and husband Jack, Jody Matson and husband Mark, and Amy Whitsit; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sidania Rudisel; a brother, Paul Rudisel; and a sister, Mildred Wood.
Glen attended Gerstmeyer High School. He served several years in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He was a retired firefighter for the City of Terre Haute where he was the secretary/treasurer for the Police and Fireman’s Fund. He also worked as a supervisor in the City Street Department, on the State Highway Department, and for Turner Coaches. Glen and his best friend, Tom Champion were active volunteer tour guides and caretakers of the Police and Fire Museum. Glen was an active member of King’s Harvest Church where he also served as a council member. He enjoyed traveling. Glen’s nightshift was eating cookies and milk, and ice cream.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9 at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, at the funeral home, with Pastor Dennis Leek and Pastor Merrillyn Smith officiating.
