

Gloyd D. Weir II, 60, of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at his residence. He was born on September 16, 1953, in Terre Haute to Gloyd D. and Martha (Heck) Weir, Sr. He attended Clinton Assembly of God.
Gloyd was a 1973 graduate of Terre Haute North. He worked at Ponderosa for 13 years. He then went to work at Union Hospital in the Housekeeping Department for 31 years. Gloyd was well known at Union for his friendly demeanor and helpful attitude. He never met a stranger. Gloyd was a hard worker who enjoyed helping others, whether it was cleaning out basements and attics, to cleaning up yards and everything in between. He will forever be remembered as a loving son, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
Gloyd is survived by his mother, Martha Weir, of Terre Haute; his daughter, Floy Weir (David O’Donnell) of Brazil; grandsons, Hunter O’Donnell and one on the way; a sister, Joeretta Lawson (Harvey) of Terre Haute; a brother, Tommy Weir of Terre Haute; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; and infant twin sister, Floy Weir; sister, Yvonne Weir; and his grandparents.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. on Monday, February 10 at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Services will be held at noon on Tuesday, February 11, at the funeral home with Brother Russell Houser officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
