

Harold E. Grayless, Sr., 84, of Terre Haute, passed away on May 1, 2012 at Union Hospital. He was born on September 3, 1927, in Vigo County to Alexander and Reva (Sharer) Grayless. He married Annie Barbara George on August 7, 1964. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII and in the Army during the Korean War. He delivered construction materials for Reiman Building Materials. He was a member of the American Legion Kriestenstein Post 104 and a lifetime member of Lawton-Byrum VFW Post 972. He enjoyed racing stock cars and watching his son race. Harold also enjoyed fishing.
Harold is survived by his children, Brenda Rukes of Crawfordsville, Harold Grayless, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Terre Haute, Gary Cooper and his wife Darla of Terre Haute, Linda Sue Wilcox of Terre Haute, Wanda Alvarez and her husband Selestino G. of Terre Haute; step-children, Juanita Killen, Henry Dickerson, Laura Walls, all of Terre Haute, Carl Dickerson and his wife Lisa, Richard Dickerson, all of Las Vegas, Lonnie Dickerson of Terre Haute, Bonnie Davis of Bloomington, and Nancy Dickerson of Terre Haute; twenty-nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Paula Grayless, step-son, Howard Dickerson, granddaughter, Melinda Kay “Red” Grayless, sisters, Doris Fish and Mary Ellen Jones, and brothers, James Richard Grayless, Alexander Grayless Jr., and Harry Grayless.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 4 from 10 – 2 at Thomas Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 4 at the funeral home with Pastor John Kessinger officiating.
