Harold W. Hein, 90, of Terre Haute, passed away on September 18, 2011 at Cobblestone Crossings Health Campus. He was born on March 5, 1921 in Remus, MI to Henry and Edna Rosetta (Ulrich) Hein. Harold served in the Navy and the Army during WWII. He was a jeweler and a certified watchmaker. He loved his motorcycle and enjoyed speedboats and airplanes. He married Mildred Wright in 1989 and she preceded him in death.
Harold is survived by his son, Larry Hein and his wife Joy of Grand Rapids, MI and his daughter Marilyn Hein of Terre Haute; grandchildren Tina Kiger and her husband David, Lisa Stehle, and Stephanie Tatman; great-grandchildren, Andrew Stehle and his wife Lindsey, Mariah Crowthers and her fiancée, , Katelyn Carlson, Austin Head, and Rachel Kiger; a great-great-grandaughter, Keirah Pine; and a brother, Walter Hein and his wife Velma, and many nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Millie, brothers, Art and Bud, and a sister, Donna.
The family wishes to thank Cobblestone Crossings Health Campus for the love and care he received while making Cobblestone Crossings his home and Vista Care Hospice for the care and compassion shown during Harold’s final days.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 24 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Curtis Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park with military rites performed by VFW Post 972. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Vista Care Hospice. Online condolences may be made at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
