John Michael Russell

John Michael Russell, 77, formerly of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025. He was born to Virgil L. Russell and Doris (Pruett) Russell in Terre Haute, Indiana on July 20, 1948.

He was a 1966 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School. He also graduated from Rose Poly (Hulman) in 1970 with a Mechanical Engineer Degree. After graduation, he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and worked for Texaco Oil as a Mechanical Engineer for several years. Eventually he moved back to Madison, Indiana to work on the Marble Hill Nuclear Plant Project. After leaving Madison, Indiana, he moved to Seymour, Indiana and worked at INDOT until he retired.

John became an elder in the Garden City Christian Church., which he truly loved. John was an avid reader and loved watching documentaries. He loved reading the Bible and praying for and with others.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

He is survived by his siblings, Ron (Paula) Russell, Maureen Russell, Patti (Bob) Russell Merrill and Diana Russell and a large extended family.

Services for John will be Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 1:00pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11:00am until service time. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park following the service.
