Joyce Marlene Hawkins

Joyce Marlene Hawkins, age 82, of Greenwood, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023. She was born on May 29, 1940 in Universal, Indiana to Nadine Doan and Perle Doan. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Edward Boren; her parents; former husband, Harold Hawkins; brother Bill Doan, and daughter, Cassandra Watkins. Joyce was a Bookkeeper in the Construction Industry until her retirement. Joyce lived in the Philippines and Germany and had the opportunity to travel in Europe extensively during that time. She was a Girl Scout leader and a talented seamstress. Her major passion was singing and she impressed all her audiences during her many years of Karaoke performances. She was an avid reader and writer. Another passion of Joyce's was painting using oil and watercolor. Most importantly, she was a devoted mother to her children and loved all her grand dogs dearly. Joyce is survived by a daughter, Alison Fletcher and husband Herman of Greenwood, South Carolina; a son, Harold Eugene "Gene" Hawkins, Jr. and wife Debra of Grand Bay, Alabama; a sister, Betty Pound of Plainfield, Indiana; a brother, Bob Doan of Ormond Beach, Florida; a son-in-law, Earl Watkins of Summerville, Georgia; three grandchildren, John Watkins, Mark Watkins and wife Kayla, and Jamie Fletcher and wife Sierra; and five great-grandchildren, Jack Watkins, Zackary Watkins, Zander Watkins, Jack Fletcher and Anastasia Fletcher. Committal Services will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Roselawn Funeral Home, with Reverend Doug Sanders officiating. Private interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until time of services at the funeral home on Thursday.
