

Lafawn Scarbrough, age 81, died Thursday, February 12th at Miller’s Merry Manor in Sullivan. She was born July 29, 1933 in Cass, IN to Elza and Ella (Cox) Alumbaugh. She worked at McGill Manufacturing and after retiring she worked for the Farmersburg Library. Lafawn lived in Hobart for many years. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Farmersburg. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Lafawn is survived by her children, John Fredrick Scarbrough (Debbie) of Portage, Peggie Breneman (John) of Paris, IL and Scott Scarbrough of Farmersburg; sister, Patty Wilkins (Lloyd) of Shelburn; grandchildren, Tina Monser (Blake) of Fairbanks, and Jason Scarbrough (Rosanna) of Portage; step-grandsons, Jeff and John Breneman of Pennsylvania; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Scarbrough; a daughter, Janet Christy; a son, Keith Scarbrough; and fourteen siblings.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17th at the chapel in Westlawn Cemetery, Farmersburg, with Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating. Kind words and fond memories may be shared with the family at www.mattoxwood.com
