LaHoma Lynn Jones

On the morning of Jan. 19, 2015, LaHoma Jones, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully at the Emeritus Assisted Living in Santa Rosa, Calif., following complications from a stroke suffered two years earlier. LaHoma was 72 years old and blessed with a warm personality, quick wit, and spirited sense of humor that remained undeterred regardless of health status. She had a love of dogs and talent for all things related to sewing and crafting.

LaHoma was born in Loogootee on May 23, 1942, to Forrest Jones and Hazel Hodson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Area Jones; her eldest son, Troy Jones of Lawton, Okla.; brothers, Larry Jones of Bluegrass, Iowa, and Ryan Brown of Muscatine, Iowa; and a sister, Candace (Jennings) Brown of Iowa City, Iowa.

LaHoma is survived by her mother, Hazel Brown of Fallon, Nev.; her children, Cory Jones of Santa Rosa, Shawne Jones Williams of Murrysville, Pa., Arie Jones of Indianapolis, Aric Jones of Misawa, Japan, and Kyle Jones of Terre Haute; as well as many other family members and friends.

LaHoma will be laid to rest next to her husband at Roselawn Memorial Park. A celebration of life will be held this May for LaHoma (notification of date and time will be provided prior to event for all who wish to attend).
