He was born on December 29, 1936 in Terre Haute, to Thomas and Florence (Butler) Elliott.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Joan Elliott; his two children, Kelli Elliott-Kellogg (Jay) and Doug Elliott (Shelly); his step-children, Debby Fox (Andy) and Rick Cottrell (Cheryl); his grandchildren: Brandi (Eric), Austin (Brittani), Ashley (Andy), Ricky (Casey), Andrew (Sindy), Christina; as well as his 9 great-grandchildren.
Larry was a member of Sacred Heart Church and St. Benedict’s Church.
After graduation from Gerstmeyer Tech, Larry joined the Army and was stationed in Berlin, Germany. After returning to the States, Larry worked at Public Service (Duke Power) and Lough Brothers Roofing.
He enjoyed old cars, watching Nascar, listening to Elvis, watching John Wayne movies, and hosting reunion parties for the Gerstmeyer, Schulte, and Garfield alumni for the past 25 years. Larry often played tricks on people with the mustard bottle.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Roselawn Funeral Home from 11am - 2pm. Service will begin at 2pm. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Benedicts Soup Kitchen (111 S 9th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47807), where Larry and his wife volunteered for 20 years.
