Leona Marie Block

Leona Marie Block, 77 of Camby passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 in her residence. She was born Jan. 22, 1941 in Putnam County, IN to Forrest M. Frederick and Juanita Wright Frederick. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Erwin A. Block, her son Fritz Block and a brother Arvin Frederick. Marie is survived by her daughter Michele Reel of Camby; 3 grandchildren Justin Block, Monica Alexis Ramirez and Danielle Reel; 5 great-grandchildren Nathaniel Block, Aleah Block, Cason Block, Lily Ramirez and Brielle Block; one sister Thelma Gilbert, Carrollton, GA; one brother Melvin Frederick, English, IN; and many nieces & nephews. Marie worked in the Laundry Department at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She earned her B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Indiana State University. Marie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mooresville. She loved to read and was a "professional" thrift store shopper! Visitation will be at the First United Methodist Church, 900 Indianapolis Road, Mooresville, IN from 4-8pm Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 19, 2018 in the church with Pastor Dennis Payton officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, Terre Haute.
