Leonard L. Barnes, 69, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Union Hospital with his family by his side.
Leonard was born in Terre Haute on October 23, 1943 to the late Charles and Mildred (Stout) Barnes. He was united in marriage to the former Josephine Holcomb, and together their marriage was blessed with over twenty years. A man of hard work and dedication, Leonard worked for several years at General Housewares Corp. and retired as a Lathe Operator. He was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving during Vietnam and enjoyed his memberships with the Eagles and the American Legion, Post 104. In addition to his parents, Leonard was welcomed home to heaven by his step-son, Lyle "Lee" Hamilton III; his brother, Keith Barnes and his sister, Barbara Barnes.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Roselawn Memorial Park. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.mattoxwood.com
