Louise Catherine Kobold Finney, 94, of Terre Haute, crossed over on January 9, 2021 into the Loving Arms of our Lord.
She was born on April 15, 1926 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Bruno and Anna Meier Kobold. She was the youngest of six girls, and was raised on the family farm. She was often found working alongside her father in the fields or with the Livestock as "housework" was not her thing.
Louise married David Spindler Finney in 1948 in Elkhart, IN, and he preceded her in death in 1964.
Louise worked at CBS Records until they moved from Terre Haute. Never idle, she then worked at Chesty Foods, Ryan's Buffet and finally as a greeter at the east Walmart, retiring at age 88. Then her yard work was the focus of all of her energy. Louise was an avid bowler, enjoyed watching tournaments on TV and watching football games, especially her great grandsons' high school football games. She was known as the team's grandmother. She also was a master at needle work, especially crocheting afghans, which she gave to all family members. She said when she is gone "wrap yourself in the afghan and consider it a hug from me".
She was preceded to heaven by her mother and father, her husband, and four older sisters.
Surviving are her older sister, Margaret Finney; four generations of broken hearted family including, Kathie S. Tennant, David S. Finney III, Robert A. Finney; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren including special great-granddaughter Ashley; 15 great-great- grandchildren; and a large extended family.
Private services were held at Roselawn Memorial Park.
