Lucile was a 1938 graduate of Rosedale High School and entered Indiana State Normal College, where she majored in music, graduating in 1942. Soon after her graduation, Lucile met the love of her life and married her soul mate, George R. Taylor, who served in the United States Army and thus began an adventurous start to their marriage traveling to various installations he was assigned to. They had three boys, Bill, Dan and Tim. In 1988, George went to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Lucile loved music, excelled as a teacher, conductor, and bandleader, teaching in both public schools and privately. She devoted many tireless hours while starting a choir at Christus Victor Lutheran Church and renewing the choir at Christ Lutheran Church. After five years as a widow, Lucile and fellow church member and friend, Martin Schmidt, married in 1993, and traveled together to many wonderful locations abroad, visiting his family in Turkey and Germany. Martin was a precious soul and left this world into his savior’s arms in 2001, leaving Lucile a widow once again.
Lucile was preceded in death by grandson, John W. Taylor; and great-great-grandson, Mathew Lewis. She leaves behind three sons Bill, Dan, and Tim; daughters-in-law, Jackie wife of Bill and Kim wife of Tim; and 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
