Lucille Florence Frederick, 80, of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Signature Healthcare. She was born on December 27, 1938 in Terre Haute to Charles R. and Ruth V. (Shumacher) Dunn. She married Peter Frederick on March 7, 1966.
Lucille is survived by her husband of 53 years, Peter Frederick of Terre Haute; sons, Peter Frederick and wife Amy, Steven Frederick, Keith Frederick, all of Terre Haute, and Daniel Frederick and wife Susan of Crawfordsville. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Stephanie, Brendon, Elizabeth, Ashley, Brandon, Brooke, Bryce, Brittany, Cameron, and Cole Frederick.
Lucille worked as a nurses’ aide for many years at Meadows Manor East. She enjoyed crocheting and reading. Being outside in the fresh air, whether she was gardening or sitting on the porch, was one of her favorite things to do. She doted on her dogs, Thor and Pal.
A woman of great strength and patience, she raised four sons alongside her husband. She loved being a mother of boys, with all of the challenges, busy schedules, and sports practices and events that came with the territory. She was delighted when she became a grandmother to all ten of her grandchildren. Lucille will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and amazing grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Per her wishes, cremation was chosen. She will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. Mattox-Wood Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.mattoxwood.com
