Mary was a wonderful, loving, and caring mother and friend to all who knew her. She always had her front door open, and welcomed anyone who needed a place to stay in times of need. She enjoyed writing cards and giving special gifts for birthdays and celebrations. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she would leave her lights up through February. Mary loved playing cards, dominoes, Yahtzee, and other board games in the wee hours of the night until the sun came up. Then her night-owl instincts would kick in and she would sleep past noon! She loved meeting her friends at the Coffee Cup, Café 302 in Alabama, Denny’s, and going to the Cracker Barrel with her daughter and granddaughters. Her spirit was full of sunshine, spunk, and laughter. Mary will be truly missed by everyone who knew her and loved her dearly.
Mary enjoyed her friends and nurse/aides at Signature Healthcare. They took great care of her and she loved them like family. Her family expresses sincere gratitude for the love and care that Mary received during her time as a part of the Signature Healthcare family.
A graveside ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 20 at Roselawn Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 21 at Signature Health Care. Rev. Allissa Williams who always said that Mary was “easy to love” will officiate both services. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
