

Mary Ellen Swearingen Baker Honey, 90, of Terre Haute died Friday, May 15, 2015, at Cobblestone Crossing. She was born May 22, 1924, in Montezuma, Indiana to Ernest Swearingen and Minnie Anderson Swearingen. She was retired from CBS. Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard H. Baker in 1984 and Donald Honey in 2004.
Survivors include three daughters, Lynn Tennant and her husband Jack of Terre Haute, Cathy Fagg and her husband Bill of Brazil and Carla Sankey and her husband Steve of Terre Haute; a brother Lester Swearingen and his wife Dolores of Brazil; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and her best friend, Carolyn Smithe. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Lillian Thomas; a brother, Chester Swearingen; one grandchild, Mike Kelty and one great grandchild, Evan Fagin.
Mary was a member of Oak Hill Community Church, Ladies Aid of Oak Hill Community Church, Riley Sunshine Home Ec Club, Chapter 43 O.E.S. and Rebekah Lodge of Riley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street, with Pastor Tim Fagg officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers are her grandsons, David Tucker, Mark Kelty, Gregg Eller, Gary Eller, Troy Fagin, Travis Fagin, Kevin Hill and honorary pall bearer is Steve Whitlock. Visitation is scheduled 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday May 19, 2015, with an OES memorial service at 7 p.m., in the funeral home.
