Mary Ringo

Mary C. Ringo, 96, of Des Moines, IA, formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, October 6 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines. She was born on February 1, 1915, in Terre Haute to Charles and Gertrude (Coker) Boehmer. She married Bernard Ringo who preceded her in death in 1996. Mary was a member of First United Methodist Church of Terre Haute for over forty years and a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church since 1993. She was a charter member of the 7:30 Home Demonstration Club in Clay County, IN and a member of a bowling team at Vigo Bowl in Terre Haute. She later bowled with the senior league at the Terre Haute Bowling Center. Mary took flying lessons at age 57, a lifelong dream.

Mary is survived by her son Roger Ringo and his wife, Diana of Des Moines; grandsons, Jordan Ringo, Adam Ringo, Murphy Wright, and Michael Wright; and granddaughters, Julie Wright and Mary Alice Wright.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bernard, and her daughter, Susan Ringo.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 8 from 1 – 2 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home. Services will be on Saturday, October 8 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ray Leach officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at www.thomasfuneralhome.net
