

Mary was born in Vigo County on June 25, 1930, the daughter of the late William and Rose (Kehoe) Head. She was united in marriage on February 9, 1949 to Ralph E. Voll, who preceded her in death in 1997. Mary was attended Garfield High School with the class of 1949. She worked for several years with Catholic Charities of Terre Haute, Compton’s Cleaners and also spent several years assisting as a teacher’s aide at Deming Elementary. Her kind, compassionate and considerate nature will not soon be forgotten.
Mary was a woman who would always help another person in need. She deeply loved her entire family and friends. In Mary’s free time, she enjoyed crocheting, reading, writing poems and singing. Her perseverance, determination and strong will enabled her to overcome breast cancer, and any other obstacle in life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come.
Mary leaves behind her devoted children, Patricia L. and husband Greg Patterson of Terre Haute, Randall E. and wife Maureen Voll of Terre Haute and Kathleen J. Mutchler of Terre Haute, along with her daughter-in-law, Cynthia L. Voll. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, in-laws and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary was welcomed home to heaven by her son, William “Mike” Voll; daughter, Candace “Candy” D. Poff; grandchildren, James Michael Voll, William Michael Voll and Jamie Dianne Voll and her siblings, Esther “Sis” Cordell, Floyd Head, Elizabeth “Betty” Shassere, William “Billy” Head and Anna Grayless.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. Mary's Funeral Ceremony will take place Friday, January 11, 2013 at the funeral home. Pastor Tim Voll of Pimento United Methodist Church will officiate with private interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. The entire family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Mary’s daughter, Kathleen Mutchler; granddaughter, Breanna Mutchler; great-granddaughter, Sevena Coffman and grandson, Clarid Mutchler for the compassionate care provided to Mary. Memorial contributions in memory of Mary may be directed to Catholic Charities Terre Haute or Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
