

Mike proudly served in the 181st Fighter Wing Air National Guard for over 34 years as a Senior Master Sergeant, crew chief responsible for maintenance aircraft controller, logistics and records. His overseas deployments included Norway, Japan, and Turkey. Mike was fondly known as Suitcase at the base. The nickname resulted from his time as a coast-to-coast semi-trailer truck driver where he would report to duty in his semi with just a suitcase. Consequently, literally living out of a suitcase. Military honors will be rendered by American Legion Post 104.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Margaret Monigold (sister) and Scott M. Dowen (nephew). Mike is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Debra Ennen Daley, son Jason M. Daley of Woodway, Texas, Janie S. Renschler (sister) of Terre Haute, Indiana. Alexandra M. Renschler (niece) Nell L. Drinkard (sister) of Appomattox, Virgina, and numerous cousins.
Mike had a large, vibrant personality full of enthusiasm for life. He was known to be quite a character with a mischievous nature. He will be remembered for his fun-loving antics. Mike enjoyed fishing, gardening, and golfing with Debbie, family, and friends. Also, he loved buggy rides with friends, Debbie and their beloved dogs Tucker and Rudy.
In addition, he was an amateur pilot flying for pure adventure and adrenaline. His final flight was on the wings of an angel into heaven. Mike was a faithful and devoted member of the Cross Lane Community Church.
Services to honor Mike’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 14th, 2026, Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 7500 N. Clinton St., Terre Haute, IN. Visitation will begin at 11:00AM until 1:00PM with Pastor Brett Wilson presiding.
