Michael Lee Stark

Michael Lee Stark, 78, of Carbon Indiana passed away on May 19, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, surrounded by his family. Mike was born on June 30, 1946 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Wayne and Pauline Baker Stark. He graduated from Rosedale High School in 1964, and married Selena Jane Wilson on September 28, 1968. Mike and Jane were members of Bridgeton Baptist Church in Bridgeton, Indiana.

Mike is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane and his sons Jared (Heather) Stark of Plainfield, Indiana and Kyle Stark and fiance Courtney Hill of Libertyville, IN. Also surviving are grandchildren Easton, Riley, Zachary, Karson, and Kloe as well as many nieces and nephews, family members and a community he loved. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Larry.

Mike was the owner of Stark’s Autobody in Brazil, Indiana until his retirement in 2009. He

continued to work/nap part-time at home. He loved restoring cars, old and new, and was the proud owner of many antiques over the years. He and Jane enjoyed taking the cars to cruise-ins on the weekends.

If he wasn’t tinkering around the house or tending to his garden, he could be found reading his Bible, cheering at one of his grandchildren's sporting events, or fishing, a love of which goes back generations. Mike had a great fondness for hunting dogs, and had many over the years.

Services will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Terre Haute, Indiana on May 27, 2025 between 5:00 - 7:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bridgeton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 24, Bridgeton, IN 47836.
