

M. Nadine Davis, 86, passed away at Rittenhouse Senior Living in Portage, Indiana on March 14, 2015. She is now and forever in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born in Oakland, Illinois on August 21, 1928 to the late Homer and Minnie (Stewart) Arney. On January 11, 1947 she married the love of her life Francis "Frank" Davis who preceded her in death in 1985. Also preceding her in death was brother, Orin Arney, sister, Barbara Brooks and niece Marti (Brooks) Robinson.
Nadine was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist church since the age of 12, where she served as a deaconess for many years and loved attending her Sunday school class pot luck dinners. While living in Northwest Indiana she enjoyed attending Grace Baptist Church in Portage.
She loved dogs and was often scolded for spoiling all of her four legged friends with "people" food (especially cookies from the buffet). She also crocheted, sewed, and was an avid reader. Nadine was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother who always enjoyed being with her family. She retired from Union Hospital where she worked as a unit secretary on the pediatrics floor.
Surviving are daughters Tammy Autterson of Hobart, Indiana and Barbie (Mike) Williams of Terre Haute; 7 Grandchildren Erica (Justin) Halloran of Portage; Mike Autterson (Stephanie Pepoff) and Kayla Brown all of Hobart, Michelle (Caleb) Summerlot and Brandon (Shelley) Williams, of Terre Haute, Jordan (Rachel) Williams of Seymour, and Shawn Williams ( fiancé Kayla McCarty) of Terre Haute; 6 Great grandchildren, Lucy and Nathan Summerlot, Logan and Noah Williams, Isabel Halloran and Jaxson Autterson. Also surviving are nephews Bill Brooks, Earl Brooks and niece Theresa (Brooks) Williams who always held a very special place in her heart.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Thomas Funeral Home and an hour prior to services on Saturday. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21 at Thomas Funeral Home with Pastor Dick Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
