

Dr. Nicholas David Plascak, 71, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at his home in Bluffton. He was born on July 5, 1943, in Terre Haute, to Nicholas and Mary (Hall) Plascak.
David was a dentist for many years and retired in 2008. During his career, he enjoyed helping many people achieve and maintain the perfect smile. David attended ISU and applied to dental school. He graduated from the IU School of Dentistry in 1967. He was elected to Dental Honorary Omicron Kappa Upsilon for being in the top 10% of his graduating class.
David enjoyed photography. He loved to spend time in nature, especially bird-watching and going to the beach, where he was into the study of marine life. He was an excellent cook. When he was younger, David liked to pilot radio-controlled airplanes with his daughters. David was a loving man who cared deeply about his loved ones. He will be missed by all those who knew him.
David is survived by his daughters: Patricia Rene Tallman and her husband Jeremy F. Tallman and Cynthia D. Hallberg and her husband William Scott Hallberg, both of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Carter C. Tallman and Alice F. Tallman, both of Indianapolis; a brother, Dr. John Plascak and wife Vicki Plascak of Lafayette; a sister, Paula Walker and husband David Walker of Terre Haute; a sister-in-law, Gloria Plascak of Terre Haute; his loving partner, Mary Ann of Bluffton, SC; nephews, Eric Plascak and wife Lauren, and Jay Plascak and wife Gabby; nieces, Jennifer Schumaker and husband Don, Angela Harris and husband Dave, Alicia Nellans and husband Scot, Leanne Wilkie and husband Scott, Melissa Bozack and husband John, and Elizabeth Plascak; great-nieces and nephews, Caden Plascak, Emily Plascak, Gavin Schumaker, Abby Schumaker, Ian Wiltermood, Mason Wiltermood, Caleb Nellans, Keaton Nellans, and Lillian Bozack.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas Plascak.
Visitation will be held from 12 until 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home, with Reverend Abe Miller officiating.
