

Norma E. Palmer, 88, of Danville went home to be with her Lord and family on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Pleasant Meadow Christian Village. She was born on September 9, 1924, in Danville, to Wilbert M. and Elsie M. (Nelson) Gardner. She married Dwight Palmer, Sr. on June 6, 1942 and together they raised three children. Norma was a member of Bowman Avenue Methodist Church. She was an avid baseball fan and her favorite team was the St. Louis Cardinals. She enjoyed cooking, especially Sunday dinners. Norma cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Judith Lucas of Georgetown, her son, Dwight L. Palmer, Jr., and his wife Nancy of Danville, grandchildren, Scott Bays, Jennifer Estock, Nicole Nelson, Brian Brown, Brenda Conner, Mike Palmer, and Doug Palmer; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Wilson of Danville, a brother, Allen Gardner and his wife Jeanne of South Bend, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dwight Palmer, Sr., a daughter, Cindy Brown, son-in-law, John Brown, infant granddaughter, Missy Palmer, and a brother, Bob Gardner.
Per Norma’s wishes, cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Roselawn Funeral Home of Terre Haute was entrusted with the arrangements.
