Richard Edward Winn, 76, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on March 29, 2026. A man deeply devoted to his family and his community, Richard will be remembered for the strength and kindness he shared with those closest to him.
Born in 1949 to the late Mary and Paul Winn, Richard found great peace and joy in nature. He was an avid fisherman who loved nothing more than a quiet day by the water, waiting for the next big catch.
Richard’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his four children: his 3 sons, Timothy Winn of Bonaire, Georgia; Andrew Winn of Hawkinsville, Georgia; Michael Winn of Augusta, Georgia; and his only daughter, Rebecca Everetts of Sun City Center, Florida. His legacy continues through his seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. Richard also leaves behind 3 sisters Carol, Paula and Connie along with many nieces and nephews who were a special part of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Paul Winn and Brother Terry Winn.
A service to celebrate Richard’s life and legacy will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026. A Committal Service will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park (7500 N Clinton, Terre Haute, IN 47805) from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Richard’s honor to a charity of your choice or that you perform an act of kindness in his memory—perhaps by taking a moment to enjoy the outdoors as he once did
