Rickie Ray Robinson, 72, of Terre Haute and Mt. Prospect, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Exceptional Living Center in Brazil. He was born on August 12, 1946, in Pocahontas, Arkansas to William and Helen (Luter) Robinson. Rickie is survived by his sons, Mickey Lawson of Rosedale and Travis Robinson and wife Jemima of Terre Haute; step-son, Jason Teeters of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Hanna Robinson of Terre Haute, Billy Lawson of Rosedale, Greg Lawson of Rosedale, Haylee O’Vivion and husband Michael of Seelyville; five great-grandchildren; close friends, Jack Richardson and wife Donna of Rosedale and Linda Mattox of Terre Haute. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leslie Robinson; sister, Janice Vineyard; grandson, Aaron Bays, and close friend, Joe Mattox. Rickie proudly served in the United States Army and retired with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He earned his Master’s Degree in Criminology at ISU. He worked for 10 years as a detective with the Terre Haute Police Department. Rickie went on to work security for PSI and later Newburgh Construction which led him to Mt. Prospect, IL. He most recently worked as the Security Director for Rouse Company for close to 15 years. In his spare time, Rickie was an avid hunter and trapper. He was a member of American Legion Post 104 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In accordance with his wishes, Rickie will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
