TERRE HAUTE — Robert E. Fuqua Jr., 58, better known as “Bobby” to his family and friends, entered into Heaven on Oct. 28, 2011, after having suffered a massive stroke. He was born June 30, 1953, to Robert E. Fuqua Sr. and Beverly Lynch. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Leora Fuqua; as well as Edgar and Clara Fuqua, his adoptive parents/grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; six children, Stephanie Gilbert, Christina Fuqua, Michael Davis, Joshua Davis, Nikki Fuqua and Ashlea Davis; four grandchildren, Kamri Large, Chrislynn Gilbert, Ayden Perry and Dawson Fuqua; his stepfather, Kenneth Lynch; sisters, Lisa Fuqua Smith (Todd), Debbie Hewitt and fiancé Abe Hubbs, Lori Cuffle (Mike), Cheryl Rubeck, Sonnie Wiram (Lonnie), Pam Curts (Mike), Lisa Stewart (Stacy) and Cindy Beikman; and brothers, Mitch (Carmen) and Greg Fuqua. He also was noted to have several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. He was known to family and friends as an avid bowler, softball and basketball player, and took great joy in the company of his wife, children and grandchildren. Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. today, at Mattox Wood Funeral Home, 4660 N. Lafayette Ave. Funeral services will be at First Church of the Nazarene, 801 Fort Harrison Road, at 11 a.m. Thursday, with viewing from 10 a.m. until services. The Revs. Mark Fleschner and Jason Riggle will officiate. Burial is at Highland Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Diabetes Association. Arrangements under the direction of Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, Terre Haute, IN.
