Robert Joe Lantz

Robert J. Lantz, 76, of Terre Haute, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013. He was born on September 2, 1936, in Terre Haute, to Dallas James and Martha Jean (Butcher) Lantz. Bob proudly served in the United States Air Force as a photographer. After serving his country, Bob earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Special Education from ISU. He then went to work for 35 years at ISU in the Audio-Visual Department as a photographer. Bob was an avid photographer and many of his pictures have been displayed at many venues in the area. Bob was a pitcher for fast-pitch softball for several years. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing pool and cards. Bob was a lifetime member of the Elks.

Bob is survived by his son, Rob Lantz and his wife Lori of Merritt Island, FL; brother, Jim Lantz of Terre Haute; sisters, Nancy Johnson and husband Nate of California, and Ann Duncan and husband Joe of Terre Haute; nieces, Kate Eleanor of Colorado, Laura Tippl, and Lindsay Grantham, both of California; nephews, Craig Schmitz, of California, and Bryan Duncan and wife Robin of Terre Haute; great-nieces and nephews, Helen, John, William, Sophie, Max, Zach, and Nick; and his special friend, Brenda Williams of Terre Haute.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Bill Lantz, a sister Cara Lantz, and a niece Amy Lantz.
