

Shirley was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on February 2, 1950, to Ralph R. and Louise M. Hamilton.
She was a 1970 graduate of Garfield High School and was a member of the Eighth Avenue Baptist Church.
As an employee of Union Hospital, she worked as a sterile processing technician, retiring after 30+ years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles D. Stoneburner; a brother Larry Hamilton; and a sister Anita Hewitt.
Surviving Shirley is her son, Wesley Holmes; stepdaughter, Carla Young (James); stepson, Chuck Stoneburner; grandsons, Austin Young, Trey Young; granddaughters Abby Young Lambert (Carson), and Payton Stoneburner.
Also surviving, sisters Linda McKee (Bill) and Betty Downey; and brother Ralph L. Hamilton (Pat).
Shirley was a very happy and caring person who loved her children and grandchildren. Her homemade noodles and no-bake cookies were a hit with the family, friends, and hospital staff.
She especially enjoyed playing pool tournaments with her husband who was a four-time American Pool Association State Champion. They enjoyed a special trip to Las Vegas where they competed and were able to meet Allison Fisher, an English Professional Pool Player with eleven World Titles.
Her family and friends will miss her joyful laugh and fun personality.
Visitation will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. Services will be held at 1:00PM with Reverend Mark Zerkel officiating.
