Virgil Stedman

Virgil Stedman Jr, 64, of Terre Haute passed away from Covid-19 on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Union Hospital. Virgil was born September 8, 1956 it Terre Haute to Virgil and Amelia (Lemont) Stedman Sr.

Virgil graduated from Ivy Tech then worked for Ivy Hill in Terre Haute. He proudly served in the United States Army for 2 years. Virgil’s biggest passion was singing and playing his guitar, which family members would join in every chance they could get. He loved praising the Lord. He had a green thumb and could grow a garden like no other.

Virgil is survived by the love of his life and wife of eleven years, Venus (Berry) Stedman; his mother, Amelia Stedman; his children: Ryan and Mark Stedman of Terre Haute, Chris Stedman of Arizona, Danielle Harrison of Terre Haute and John Harrison of Kansas; his grandchild, Hunter Norton; his sisters: Teresa Bunning of Latham, IL and Sally (Jim) Hendricks of Greencastle; his brothers: Ron (Lola) Stedman of Mowequa, IL and John (Diana) Stedman of Decatur, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his previous wife Peggy Stedman, his father Virgil Stedman Sr., grandparents, brother-in-law Mike Bunning; and nephews, Cody Bunning and Jordan Bunning.

We will all miss his texts, postings and of course his teasing.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be no public service at this time. A celebration of Virgil’s life will be held at a later date at Roselawn Funeral home. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
