Emily Nell Springer

Emily Nell Henderson Springer was born January 4, 1923 in Goldthwaite, Texas. She passed from this life to the next on November 10, 2014 at the age of 91. She married James Springer May 22, 1943 in Terrell, Texas. She graduated from Terrell High School after which she worked as a telephone operator and then as receptionist at a medical clinic. She was very active at First Baptist Church of Terrell, serving as a Sunday School teacher and a deacon’s wife. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Nora Henderson of Terrell, Texas, an infant son, James Owen, sister, Beth Vance and son –in-law, Joe Chambers. Emily is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, James Springer; cherished daughters: Carol Chambers of Spring, TX and Susan Smith and husband Mike of Jacksonville, TX; five grandchildren: Cyndi Hudson and husband Bob of Senatobia, MS, Mason Rollins of The Woodlands, TX, Allison Combrink and husband Lance of The Woodlands, Elaine Gardner and husband James of West Monroe, LA, and Lance Smith and wife Asheley of Flint, TX; ten great grandchildren: Adam Hudson of Spring, TX, Ross Hudson of Senatobia, MS, Mason, Jack and Alexa Combrink of The Woodlands, William, Emma, and Jacob Gardner of West Monroe, LA and Logan and Landon Smith of Flint, Texas; one sister, Evalyn Crouch and husband James of Terrell; brother-in-law, John Vance of Rockwall; nephews: Keith Crouch and wife, Sarah and Paul Crouch and wife, Phyllis; two nieces: Teresa Norvell and husband, Monty and Jan Crawford and husband, Pat, as well as a host of friends who loved her and will miss her dearly. Funeral service will be at 2:00pm, Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel with Rev. Ernie McCoulskey officiating with the family receiving friends beginning at 1:00pm to service time. Interment will follow at Oakland Memorial Park in Terrell.
