Homer Wesley Winton

Homer Wesley Winton was born on July 21, 1936 in Terrell, Texas to George and Lee Earle Winton. He had his birthday into Heaven on March 22, 2021.

Homer was part of the College Mound Community for over 84 years where he lived and went to school. He was a 1955 graduate of Terrell High School as well as a lifetime member of the College Mound United Methodist Church.

Homer held various jobs, the most recent being at the Kaufman Veterinary Clinic where he worked until his retirement. In his spare time, Homer loved farming, tending to his cattle and working in his garden. Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Thelma Sanders of Hallettsville, TX, his nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and friends.

Homer was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, his brother, Orban Winton, Sr., sisters, Marguerite Winton Howie and Clara Maxine Tankersley, as well as other in-laws.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider memorials to the College Mound Cemetery Association, Post Office Box 105, Terrell, TX 75160.

I can still remember my step uncle Homer taking me around the family farm as he cared for the dairy cows. The small dairy building could have several cows inside at milking time.
