James Dean Crawford, of Terrell, passed away Oct. 18, 2014 in Cheyenne, WY. Dean was born June 21, 1969 in Kermit, TX to Howell Dean Crawford and Shiela Weaver. He was preceded in death by his father, daughter, Whittney Crawford and brother, Jesse Dean Crawford. Dean was an all around great guy with a big heart as well as wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and UT Longhorns and he could be found watching ESPN for any other sport as well. The devotion and love that he showed his wife Stephanie, who was also his best friend, was very well known among family and friends. He treasured any time spent with her and catered to her every need including cooking her supper. When not with Stephanie, he was playing basketball or fishing with his children, creating memories that they will hold dear for the rest of their lives. Dean had a work ethic that underlined his commitment to always doing the best job he could and his colleagues always knew they could count on him on any assignment. He was a funny and witty man who loved to “discuss” (and even argue good naturedly) but this characteristic was balanced out by his compassion and sensitivity for anyone and everyone that he met. Always a gracious man and putting others before himself, Dean made sure to tell each person every day that he loved them and how thankful he was to have them in his life. His graciousness and kindness will be a legacy that his family will cherish forever. Dean is survived his wife, Stephanie Smith-Crawford of Terrell; children: Colton, Brittney, Jesse, and Courtney and Cameron Crawford; grandchildren: Lauren, Hayden, Addison, Laura, and Hunter; mother, Shiela Cram and husband, Joe, of Choctaw, OK; siblings: Ginger Mayfield and husband, Joseph of Spokane, WA, Monica McMullen and husband, Wayne of Kaufman, TX, Kristie Armstrong and husband Tony of Kaufman, TX, Kevin Crawford and wife, Robin, of Monahans, TX, Kyle Nicholson of Mendota, CA, Robby McGahey and wife, Brandi, of Oklahoma City, OK as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
