Mildred Louise Cox-McBride, 72, passed away on May 6, 2015. Mildred was born to Roy and Dorthel Lindsey on October 19, 1942 in Lubbock, TX. She was a social butterfly and any one she met became a friend. Mildred would talk to anybody and was welcoming to new people at Windsor Care Center and Grace Fellowship Baptist Church. One of her favorite activities was playing Bingo and the first time her granddaughter climbed into her lap and played along with her was one of her cherished memories. When she wasn’t playing bingo, you could probably find her playing Wii bowling. She also loved shopping and crafts. Her children made sure that they always brought her Blue Bell Ice Cream or a Wendy’s Frostee. Spending time with her family was the most important thing to Mildred. She was a loving wife, mother and grandma. She was a faithful and active member of Grace Fellowship Baptist church. If she had to miss a Sunday service, for whatever reason, she was upset. She considered everyone there a part of her own family. Those who have preceded her in death include her parents Roy and Dorthel and first husband Donald L. Cox. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband David McBride; her children Mary Alice Knight and Don Roy Cox; grandchildren Nathan Smith and wife Vanessa and Amy Smith; granddaughter Milada “Millie” Georgesmith; brothers Phillip Lindsey, Roy Lee Lindsey and Bennie Lindsey and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
