Thomas Durrell Smith

Thomas Durrell Smith, 64, of Terrell, Texas passed away on September 8, 2015. Thomas was born on November 28, 1950 in Morganfield, Kentucky to James Leon Smith, who preceded him in death, and Rita Maude Smith. Thomas served his country in the United States Army and then went on to become a truck driver for 36 years. Thomas enjoyed playing pool and had a fondness for motorcycles but most of all he loved to read murder mysteries and books on real criminal cases. He also loved to watch programs such as NCIS, Bones and Big Brother. It was very well known amongst his loved ones and friends he did not like to be disturbed during “his shows”. Those left to cherish his memory are daughters: Elizabeth Rhea and husband Donny of Simms, Texas, Shawna Reaves of Dekalb, Texas, son, Shannon Smith of Amarillo, Texas, grandchildren: Justin Simmons, Kayelee Rhea, Gavin Rhea, and Ethan Walker of Simms, Texas, Ashley Ortega and Dakota Ortega of Prosper, Texas, Bryce Ard of Quinlan, Texas, brother, John B. Smith of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, sisters: Janice Smith of Mesquite, Texas, Paula Jensen of Sunnyvale, Texas and three best friends; Vickie Palmer, Randy, and Bill Sherrard along with numerous nieces, nephews extended family and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.
