Arthur Daniel Stokes, 76, of Texarkana, TX passed away November 17, 2014 at his home. Mr. Stokes was born April 15, 1938 in Texarkana, AR. He was a Baptist; a U. S. Navy Veteran, served in Asian Theater on the USS Cimarron.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Young; and granddaughter, Shari Faulkner.
Survivors include his wife, Marlin Stokes of Texarkana, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Michelle Stokes of Martinsville, IN; daughter, Heather Arnett of Texarkana; stepson, Stephen Faulkner of Dallas, TX; sisters, Dorothy Martin of Beckville, TX, Louise Bufford of Austin, TX and Patsy Austin of Apple Valley, CA; brothers, Allan Stokes of Texarkana and Wayne Stokes of Brownsfield, TX; 13 grandchildren; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2014 at East Memorial Chapel - Downtown. Arrangements are under the direction of East Funeral Home - Downtown
Family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m.Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the funeral home, prior to the service.
