

Carlynn Floyd Beck was born on June 9, 1925 in Texarkana to Carl and Lela Floyd and passed away on May 5, 2023 at the age of 97. She lived in Texarkana until 1930 when her family moved to Red Springs in the Redwater area. She went to school in Red Springs through the 7th grade and to Redwater High School where she graduated in 1946. She began working at Red River Army Depot in January, 1947 and worked for 30 years. Carlynn knew almost everybody in our area because of her work in the insurance and Retirement Department. She also "figured" insurance and retirement for the employees at Louisiana Army Depot located outside of Minden, LA.
Carlynn Floyd married Pierce Beck in May 1947. They were married for 64 years until Pierce died in 2010. They left a faithful Christian legacy to their children and grandchildren of their love and devotion to each other.
They taught 6th grade Sunday School for many , many years at First Baptist Church, Texarkana. She was an active member of the WMU, the Homebound Ministry and many other programs of the church. At Pierce's funeral , their dear friend Larry Sims stated they had made more hospital and home visits and funerals than anyone he knew.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; grandson Kevin Eugene Lindsey; and a brother, Paul Floyd.
Carlynn is survived by her children Sherry and Gene Lindsey of Wills Point, TX, Robin and Sue Beck of Texarkana. Her grandchildren Randy and Staci Beck of Texarkana, Kristi and Brian Bass of Canton, TX, Eric and Melissa Beck of Plano, TX, Kim and Rusty McEnturff of Wills Point, TX and Emily and Greg Richards of Palacios, TX.
She has 13 great grandchildren, Jordyn (Jesse) Oswalt and Kameron (McKenzie) McEnturff, Madison Priest (Grady) and Chandler Bass, Reagan and Emma Beck, Michael and Mia Sanderson, Justin Beck, Laila, Ellen-Claire, Oliver and Audrey Richards and two great great grandsons, Knox and Beckett.
She is also survived by many family members and friends she loved dearly.
Family will receive friends from 10am to 11am on Friday, May 12, 2023 at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane with funeral services starting at 11 am with Gene Lindsey officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
