Dolores Villaverde Hayes, better known to family and friends as "Auntie" or "Gramma" Dolly, born on October 13, 1923 in Kapapala, Kau District, Island of Hawaii and departed this world to be with The Lord on February 12th, 2016 in Texarkana, Texas.
Dolly grew up and spent the majority of her life in Hawaii. She was a loving mother to 5 children, a waitress and a homemaker. She later retired to Texarkana in 1992 where she shared her zest for life with others and also her Hawaiian heritage. She loved to sing karaoke and could tell a good joke with her quick-wit and comedic timing.
While our hearts are broken because we will miss her one of a kind spirit, we know that her life and legacy should be a testament and reminder to us all. At 92 years "young", Dolly was the epitome of positivity and the power of a good attitude. Her many friends and ohana will be quoting her hilarious and quick-witted sayings forevermore in her memory and honor. She was a beacon of light to all who had the pleasure of knowing her and she made a lasting impression on others. We will miss her and love her forever. There will be a hole in our hearts until we see her again someday...but as she would say in her sweet little spunky voice, "Whateva!!!! Everything be alright!!!!"
She was preceded in death by her late husbands, Samuel Cantiberos and Paul Hayes..
