Erika Gisela Guinnip

She met the love of her life, Charlie Guinnip, while he was stationed in Germany. They were married in a castle in Germany on December 15, 1961. They had 64 wonderful years together making memories and showing others what true love and companionship was.

She was a dedicated wife, second mom to her nieces and nephews and most of all a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ. Erika had a gentle spirit and never failed to find and make friends with those she came in contact with. She loved nature and all God's creatures. She raised and nurtured any animal that needed to be loved and cared for.

She is survived by her husband Charles (Charlie) Guinnip of Texarkana, AR, two sisters Gerlinda Franke of Wilheim-Main, Germany and Waltraud Sorell of Hanau, Germany; two nieces, Lisa Hutchison (Scott) of Broken Bow, OK and Corina Leist of Germany; two nephews, Marcus Gilliam (Sharon) and Michael Gilliam of Texarkana, AR. She has many great-nieces and great-nephews and so many friends left to cherish her memory.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; two sisters Inge Gilliam and Margarete Roth; two nieces Cindy Jackson and Connie Barlow; two nephews Shaun Barlow and Brandon Willie.

A memorial service will be 2 PM Monday January 19, 2026, at East Memorial Chapel at 602 Olive Street, Texarkana, TX 75501. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the memorial service.
