Lester R. Wakefield, 89, of Texarkana, TX passed away September 29, 2014 at his home. Mr. Wakefield was born October 16, 1924 in Foxmore Ranch, TX . He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and a U. S. Army veteran serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars and a member of the Korean Baptist Church in Texarkana, TX. Mr. Wakefield had served as a foreign missionary under Southern Baptist Mission Board.
Survivors include his wife, Yong Cha Wakefield of Texarkana; daughters, Grace Choe of Houston, TX, April Bae of Glenrock, NJ, and Donna Roh of Irvine, CA; and 6 grandchildren and one sister.
Services will be at 10am Thursday, October 2, 2014 at East Memorial Chapel with Rev. Yim, Paek U officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home - Moores Lane
Family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
