March 28, 1939 – April 28, 2025
It is with both heavy hearts and grateful spirits that we celebrate the life of Loretta Rose, who peacefully entered the arms of her Savior on April 28, 2025.
Born on March 28, 1939, Loretta lived a life filled with grace, love, and unwavering faith. She never met a stranger — her warmth and kindness wrapped around everyone she met. A tireless supporter of her family, she never missed a single school play, sports game, or important moment, always cheering with pride and joy.
Her greatest love was the Lord. She not only loved Him deeply but lived her faith with a radiant spirit that made others want to know Him too. Whether leading Girl Scout troops, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, or riding the Sunday bus to bring young women from the Women’s Center to church, she made sure every soul she encountered felt seen, loved, and valued.
She is survived by her loving husband, Curtis L. Rose, who stood faithfully by her side. She was adored by her children, Diane Cooper (Tom) and Connie Brown (Gary), and her bonus children, Curtis Dean Rose and Shely Skonieczny (Mike). She also poured her love into her six grandchildren: Brittanie Stone (Keith) — who was like a third daughter — Garrett Brown, Rae Rowan (Nik), Kayla Eckhardt (Brandon), Hannah Cooper, and Ryan Skonieczny.
Her love grew even wider with her ten great-grandchildren: Cooper Stone, Channing Beth, Ella Beth, Hendrix Coker, Carter Marie Stone, Liam Combs, Zara Brown, Addison Brown, Tobias Brown, and August Brown — each one carrying a piece of her beautiful spirit forward into the world.
Memaw, as she was lovingly called, leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, boundless faith, and a smile that could light up the darkest day. Everyone loved Memaw — to know her was to be blessed by her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering spirit.
Though we grieve her absence, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is celebrating in Heaven, welcomed with the words she longed to hear: "Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23
