

Louise Nance Coker, 79, of Texarkana, TX passed away July 16, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Coker was born July 22, 1931 in Cooper, Texas. She graduated from East Texas State University; and received her masters degree from Texas Women’s University. She taught high school at Paul Pewitt High School and Daingerfiled High School.
Mrs. Coker was a member of Texarkana Garden Club and Bridge Club; she was an artist who loved painting; traveling; and showering others with gifts. She was past director of the Texarkana "Y" Board and also taught sewing, cooking and decorating to the youth of Texarkana for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Coker; and her son, Rick Coker.
Survivors include her sisters, Bonnie Wommack of Naples, TX, Betty Burgess of Graham, TX and Rosemary Jackson of Crown Point, NM; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Nancy Nance of Naples, TX; plus numerous nieces and nephews and several great nieces and one great nephew.
Services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at East Memorial Chapel – Moores Lane with Rev. Larry Sims officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery, Naples, TX, under the direction of East Funeral Home – Moores Lane.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at East Funeral Home – Moores Lane.
