M.C. Johnston, Jr., 86, of Ashdown, AR, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 6, 2019. Mr. Johnston was born on December 7, 1932 in Texarkana, AR. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Ashdown. Past presidents of South Hot Springs Lions Club and Clarksville Texas Kiwanis Club. Graduate of North Heights High School of 1950 and member of the North Heights Alumni Association. He was past vice president of Piggly Wiggly Red River Company. Also past owner of the Quickie Superette in Clarksville, TX. He was an avid fisherman and loved camping. Huge fan of the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and Arkansas Razorbacks. He also loved gardening, working in his yard, playing many different card games, and watching western movies.
Preceded in death by his parents M.C. Johnston, Sr. and Vera Johnston; son Kenneth Johnston; all his siblings; one granddaughter Heather Johnston Coker whom he loved like a daughter
Survived by his wife Janice "Kay" Anderson Johnston of Ashdown, AR; one daughter Sharon Johnston McGlothin of Little Rock, AR; one granddaughter Regina Radke of Sherwood, AR; two great-grandsons Stephan and Noah Radke both of Sherwood, AR; one great-granddaughter and husband Sarjah Longoria Egusquiza and Casey Egusquiza of Dallas, TX, whom he loved so much. Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at East Funeral Home-Downtown with Revs. Butch Riddle and Bob Conner officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Monday, June 10, 2019 at East Funeral Home-Downtown.
